Total Eclipse Is Just The Start

There was lots of hoopla in the media today, just as we thought there would be.

Watching the BBC was especially fun, with its video footage of amazed eclipse-watchers in northern Europe.

The total solar eclipse earlier today certainly was an amazing event.

Today's total eclipse of the Sun caught everyone's attention!

Today’s total eclipse of the Sun caught everyone’s attention!

It was also noteworthy because it came just hours before the Spring Equinox, adding to its force and significance.

If you were in the U.S., though, you didn’t get to see it live. This total eclipse was visible throughout Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Asia, with especially good viewing in Greenland and Iceland.

But no matter where you happened to be today while the total eclipse was taking place, this was still a very important occasion.

Not just in terms of the total eclipse being an eye-catching celestial event, but from an astrological perspective as well.

In fact, the astrology associated with today’s total eclipse is so significant that Jim Cummins and I have made it the subject of a new 159-page e-book.

The total eclipse of the Sun at the Spring Equinox is a major event for the world.

The total eclipse of the Sun at the Spring Equinox is a major event for the world.

It’s called Global Game Change: Power and Profits at the Equinox Eclipse, and it’s already been getting rave reviews.

In it Jim and I take a look not only at the dynamics of the total eclipse itself, but also its potential impact across the world.

I focus mainly on the historical precedents for this total eclipse, and on the effects we can expect to see in the stock and futures markets, in currency trading, and in core economic structures.

Jim Cummins is an expert mundane astrologer, so his focus is on the geopolitics involved – and wow, does he have some incredible insights! The in-depth research he put into this new book is staggering to say the least – but the bottom line is that you’ll find insights here you simply won’t get anywhere else.

What Really Matters About The Total Eclipse

There’s one thing you don’t want to overlook – the effects of this total eclipse are not over yet!

In fact, we’re just getting started – and this new e-book is packed with dates that you can watch for eclipse effects for many months to come!

Solar Eclipse Stock Market Zone

We’re just about ready to release the massive new e-book on Global Game Change: Power and Profits at the Equinox Eclipse.

But as we focus on the potentially devastating solar eclipse stock market effects that can accompany the big Equinox Eclipse that’s coming up on Friday, March 20, we shouldn’t overlook the solar eclipse stock market impact of the last big solar eclipse as well.

That eclipse happened last October, but the solar eclipse stock market influence is still being felt, especially when we get planetary alignments that trigger sensitive points in the horoscope for that eclipse.

Solar Eclipse Stock Market Support

Solar eclipse stock market effects can include defining a support zone, as in the case of the eclipse on October 23, 2014.

As this chart for the S&P 500 Index shows, the price range on the date of that eclipse has created a support zone for the index since then, bounded by a high of 1961 and a low of 1931.

The Uranus/Pluto waxing square in December helped drive the markets lower, but the index didn’t penetrate the support zone generated by the solar eclipse stock market dynamics from October.

Lasting Solar Eclipse Stock Market Effects

Since that time prices have remained above that solar eclipse stock market support level, but the next Uranus/Pluto waxing square on March 16 may drive the S&P lower for yet another test of support.

If that support continues to hold firm past the Equinox Eclipse coming up on Friday, we can expect more bullish action ahead, but a break below that eclipse-defined trading range at any time during the next few months would be extremely bearish.

If that happens, we will reassess our bullish assumptions and recalculate our price targets.

Cyclone Pam & Uranus-Pluto Power

Uranus is all about surprises.

A surprise birthday party.

An unexpected presentation of an engagement ring.

An unanticipated encounter with a long-lost friend who shows up uninvited at an exclusive social event.

All of those things are the kind of surprises we like.

But sometimes Uranus gets nasty.

It can bring surprising catastrophes, lightning storms, high winds, rapidly escalating conflicts, and times of social strife.

That’s especially true when Uranus joins forces with Pluto, which is exactly what’s been going on for the past three years.

The current series of seven waxing Uranus/Pluto squares, which began in 2012, is coming to an end on March 16, with the final installment in the series of alignments.

And it’s already bringing more than its share of unpleasant surprises.

Cyclone Pam Smashes Vanuatu

Just ask the good folks in Vanuatu, in the South Pacific.

The final Uranus/Pluto waxing square started shaking things up there less than 48 hours ago, as the most powerful storm system ever recorded in the region hammered the Pacific islands.

Tropical Cyclone Pam, packing sustained winds of over 250 kilometers per hour, with gusts of over 300 kilometers per hour, has left what relief workers are calling “unbelievable destruction” in Port Vila, the capitol of Vanuatu, with more than 90 percent of the structures there damaged in some way.

The South Pacific Meets Cyclone Pam and Friends

And Tropical Cyclone Pam is just the leader of the pack.

In addition to Pam, Tropical Cyclones Bavi, Olwyn, and Nathan are simultaneously clobbering the South Pacific, sending shock waves through northern Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and lands beyond.

While at least 8 deaths have been reported and there’s already a tremendous strain on communications, transportation, and relief efforts, what’s abundantly clear about Cyclone Pam is the true power of the Uranus/Pluto waxing square series.

That’s a force that I analysed in depth in my monograph on The Uranus/Pluto Waxing Square 202-2015, but Vanuatu makes it clear that we need to consider this powerful and stressful alignment from a different perspective.

While the physical devastation and impact on human life is considerable, this event also has significance in the world of international finance. Vanuatu is a popular tax haven and the island nation has no income tax, capital gains tax, withholding tax, inheritance tax, or exchange control.

Cyclone Pam Uranus Pluto

Cyclone Pam hit Vanuatu as the final waxing Uranus/Pluto square was just coming into focus.

The country’s horoscope suggests its high vulnerability to the power of the final Uranus/Pluto waxing square

Transiting Uranus not only squares transiting Pluto; it also forms an opposition to the country’s natal Pluto.

The alignment of transiting Uranus and transiting Pluto directly activates the Moon and Hades in the national horoscope for Vanuatu, suggesting sudden impoverishment of the general population.

The activation of the Vanuatu Sun/Saturn midpoint indicates sudden separations and the loss of important connections with the elderly.

Watching Cyclone Pam

We will of course be keeping on top of the news from Cyclone Pam as it unfolds. The mainstream media won’t be paying much attention to the Uranus/Pluto waxing square, of course.

But at least some of us will have an idea about what’s really gonig on.

What About Putin’s Health?

The Kremlin is insisting that Vladimir Putin is just fine, thank you very much.

Putin Beefcake Fishing

Macho man Valamir Putin’s health may be great – but what else should he be worrying about?

According to a Reuters story from Maria Tsvetkova, “Russian President Vladimir Putin is in good health, the Kremlin said on Thursday, dismissing rumors that the leader was suffering from an illness after a foreign trip was canceled.”

The story notes that concerns about Putin’s health began with the cancellation of that trip. “A Kazakh governmental source said Putin’s trip to Astana scheduled for this week was canceled because Putin had fallen ill, stirring speculation on social media that something had happened to the 62-year-old leader.”

But a top source in the Kremlin has made it clear that President Putin’s health is nothing to worry about: “Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, asked by Reuters if the president was in good health, replied ‘yes’.”

But what’s really going on?

According to my colleague Jim Cummins, an accomplished mundane astrologer and a dedicated observer of world affairs, there are plenty of reasons to be concerned– not just about Vladimir Putin’s health, but also about his ability to retain his position of power in Russia.

“For Vladimir Putin, March 2015 is an especially precarious month,” Jim says.

More specifically, he warns that there may be coup attempt against the Russian leader, with the event potentially being triggered by the Equinox Eclipse later this month and/or the Lunar Eclipse that follows it in early April.

“It is as though Mr. Putin is in the center of a huge, long-lasting lightning storm,” Jim adds.

Jim has a great track record for astute observations and accurate forecasts, so I’m inclined to pay attention to what he’s saying here, regardless of what the Kremlin has to say about the state of Putin’s health.

But I have to admit that I’m biased. Jim Cummins is also my co-author for the new book Global Game Change: Power and Profits at the Equinox Eclipse.

This important new report is scheduled for release as an e-book next week.

This is one publishing event you won’t want to miss, since it goes into a lot more detail – not only about the uncertain future for the Russian president (no matter what happens with Putin’s health), but also about major geopolitical issues, what we can expect in the markets, and much, much more.

We’re on the Cover of Timer Digest

The new issue of Timer Digest has arrived.

Three weeks ago, I was really excited because I had just learned that Timer Digest had ranked our market forecasting here at FinancialCyclesWeekly.com as being in a tie for second place among long-term stock market timers.

That was the most recent issue of the publication until the one that just came out this week.

When I got that news three weeks ago I felt that it was a good reason to celebrate.

Right now, however, there’s even more cause for excitement!

What Timer Digest Is All About

I should probably note here that Timer Digest, a leading publication for market analysts, fund managers, and institutional investors, regularly reviews and ranks financial newsletters and investment advisers.

It’s an authoritative source that’s packed with solid perspectives and unbiased data.

And the exciting part is that the March 9 issue of Timer Digest has a full-page article on Financial Cycles Weekly!

The piece in Timer Digest reviews some of the history that has contributed to the refinement of the trading system we use today.

It also details the great results we’ve been getting with our model portfolio, and discusses some of the accurate forecasts we’ve made over the years.

And to top things off, there’s even a picture on the cover that highlights our market service!

Tim Bost Cover Timer Digest

The market service at FinancialCyclesWeekly.com and editor Tim Bost were the subject of a special feature in Timer Digest on March 9, 2015

Getting this kind of recognition from Timer Digest means a lot to me, of course.

It always feels great to be in the spotlight, especially when the attention is favorable. And it’s especially good to be able to share the success we’ve experienced here during the past dozen years or so.

But what’s even more important is seeing other people recognize what we’ve known for a long time – that the astro-trading advantage can give you a real edge in your approach to the markets, and it can make a big difference in your personal well-being, too!

The End of A Cycle

We’ve been dealing with the series of Uranus/Pluto waxing squares for the past three years.

There have been six of these alignments so far, with the first one coming in the summer of 2012 and the most recent one hitting us last December.

And now we’re ready for the seventh and final square.

It’s coming up in just another week, on March 16.

It marks the end of a cycle of these alignments, but not the end of the enormously stressful impact this planetary combination has been having on geopolitics, on community affairs, on market and economic activity, and on our daily lives.

As we noted in our special monograph on The Uranus/Pluto Waxing Square 2012-2015: Expanded Astro-Trading Opportunities, Uranus by itself can be extremely disruptive. It’s associated with surprises, accidents, explosions, bursts of enthusiasm, sudden hostilities, and the rapid disintegration of established forms and expectations.

We reach the end of a cycle with Uranus every 84 years, and that time period often marks significant milestones in the lives of individuals, organizations, and countries as well.

The End of a Cycle of Uranus and Pluto Together

When we add Pluto to the mix, however, the already explosive potential of Uranus can get extreme.

There are wars, natural catastrophes, and riots in the streets.

Tempers flare, and lines are drawn in the sand in families, neighborhoods, and political parties.

We experience times of racial unrest, social tension, confrontation, and sometimes violence and bloodshed.

The final Uranus/Pluto waxing square marks the end of a cycle with activation of potent midpoint structures.

The final Uranus/Pluto waxing square marks the end of a cycle with activation of potent midpoint structures.

That’s what’s been in play for the past three years, and that’s what comes into strong focus as we approach the end of a cycle on March 16.

This final alignment at the end of a cycle of seven waxing squares sees the Uranus/Pluto waxing square triggering the Apollon/Aries midpoint (widespread commercial activity; events that have a global impact) and the Hades/Vulcanus midpoint (wickedness, vice, great danger, capital crimes, brutality, murder.

In short, it’s not a very pretty picture.

But even as we count down the days until this ominous astrological event at the end of a cycle in a period of profound stress, we need to remind ourselves that every crisis brings opportunities with it.

Friday’s Stock Market Drop

“What happened to the market today?” the caller wanted to know. “I thought we were supposed to be bullish right now, but there was a big stock market drop. So what happened?”

His observation was certainly true. There had in fact been a significant stock market drop as we finished up the trading week.

During Friday’s trading the S&P 500 index lost 29.78 points, a decline of 1.42%.

The NASDAQ Composite gave up 55.44 points for the day, down by 1.11%.

But the sharpest stock market drop, and the one that caught everyone’s attention, hit the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

That index slammed down to a net loss of 278.94 points during the day’s trading.

That was a single-day loss of 1.54%.

What Triggered The Stock Market Drop?

That was the question on everybody’s mind.

“Shouldn’t we have seen a stock market drop like this one coming ahead of time?”

As a matter of fact, we did.

In the March 1, 2015 issue of the FinancialCyclesWeekly newsletter, I tried to make the situation clear.

I noted that “there’s cause for some caution here, with what looks suspiciously like a very short-term head and shoulders pattern showing up in the price action for the S&P last week, and that index giving up a little ground from the previous week.”

I added that “this amazingly energetic market may soon be running out of steam.”

How The Media See the Stock Market Drop

According to the mainstream media, it’s all about jobs.

Too many of them.

With such a strong jobs report coming out Friday morning from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Wall Street suddenly got very scared that this improvement in the employment picture would provoke Janet Yellen and her buddies at the Federal Reserve into unexpectedly raising interest rates.

That was a scary thought for traders.

But from an astro-trading perspective, we think Venus should get at least some of the credit (or the blame).

More specifically, Venus in alignment with the horoscope for last October’s solar eclipse.

On Friday, March 6, there was a double activation of the solar eclipse chart, with transiting Venus in a opposition to both Mercury and Zeus.

Venus hits Eclipse for Stock Market Drop

This 90-degree dial shows the planetary positions at the time of the October 2014 solar eclipse. The red pointer arrow indicates the position of transiting Venus on March 6, 2015. Venus activated Mercury and Zeus in the eclipse chart, helping to trigger a very big stock market drop.

That planetary combination certainly signals volatility, so it wasn’t too surprising to see a little bit of panic selling in stocks. The activation of the eclipse Cupido/Posiedon midpoint suggests some new ideas at a cultural or commercial level, which could be a signal for broad-based positive actions. However, on Friday Venus also triggered the Hades/Vulcanus midpoint, which symbolizes a powerfully negative explosion, potentially driving prices lower in a significant stock market drop.
